2025 Quilting Goals
January 1st means it’s time to talk about my 2025 quilting goals.
I’ve tried to type “quilting” three times just now and each time it has come out as “quitting”. Maybe I should quit while I’m ahead and not make any quilting goals this year?
Tempting, but no.
It’s a new year and so I’ll make some quilting goals. After my 2024 disaster of not completing much, I am going to keep my goals very, very manageable this year.
Quilt Patterns
I want to write and publish four quilt patterns.
Sweet Pea already exists but needs an upgrade with more quilt sizes.
Lattice Stars already exists in quilt form and just needs to be written.
I made a test quilt last year for a plaid quilt pattern, and I think the block pattern has coalesced in my mind from that test block to something a little bigger and better.
There is a Sawtooth Star quilt rattling around in my brain that has come from my desire to make a new bed quilt to keep for myself. It’s still in the thinking about it stage, not even yet to the planning stage, but I think I can pull it all together before the end of 2025.
Scraps
We all know I’m not going to clean out the scrap bin. We’ve discussed every year how useless that goal is.
But I am going to make three quilts and write three scrappy tutorials this year.
Why three?
It’s one more than last year and feels manageable.
If you also want to clean out your scrap bin but don’t want to wait for new tutorials, here are some previous Scrappy Quilting Tutorials to keep you busy until the new ones are out.
Zippers
I want to work with zippers this year, and I am setting two reasonable goals within this goal.
A bag or pouch or tote or something along those lines, with a regular zipper.
A pillow case with an invisible zipper.
Two goals. Like scraps, it seems manageable.
Reading Nook
This bench/reading nook in my new living room needs some work. I would like to make a cushion to sit on. That might be a good place to work with a zipper.
I would like to make some pillows. Those could be a good place for some invisible zippers.
I would also like to make a cat perch of some kind which will likely involve no sewing, but you never know.
One cozy reading bench.
4. 3. 2. 1.
2025 is the year I will successfully complete all of my quilting goals! Stick around to watch by joining my newsletter.

Very realistic goals for 2025.
And with shopping, purchasing and settling in to your new home, you ready only had 6 months to reach

I love the blue quilt with white stars, and I am wondering where I can find that pattern.
Thanks
Darcy
Hi Deborah, I am working on writing that pattern right now and hope to have it out to testers by the the of January and ready to publish in the early spring.
