Made and Found Quiltalong – A Scrappy Quilting for Fun Project

I stumbled onto the Made some and Found Quiltalong in mid-February and it’s the perfect low-stakes, use up scraps, quilt for fun project for me this year!

As you know if you follow my quilting blog regularly, I’ve been trying to find the right balance between treating this as a business and making sure I’m still quilting for fun.  You can read all about it in my 2024 Quilting Goals.

Made and Found Quiltalong Block 1

The Made and Found Quiltalong will be 36 9” quilt blocks from several fabric collection designers from Andover.  The blocks will be released one per week until mid-October which is perfect because it will wrap up just around the time the annual Quiltville Mystery gets started.

Scrappy Fabric Goodness!

There is no requirement to use Andover fabrics in the Made and Found quilt, and so I am using these fabrics that are leftovers from two previous quilt projects.

This fabric came into my quilting world when I bought a half yard bundle and some border fabric to make the cover quilt when I updated and re-released the Hexie in a Hexie Quilt Pattern.

I used the scraps from that project to make a Scrappy 4-Patch for a tutorial last year.

I know I won’t be able to make all of the blocks from just these scraps and will supplement with other fabrics from my stash that coordinate.

Weekly Quilt Blocks

In order to use up my scraps, I will adjust some blocks (like Week 1) to use up smaller scraps.

Thinking you might also like to join the Made and Found Quiltalong?

You can find all of the info, weekly block patterns within the files, and lots of photos from other quilters each week in the Made and Found Facebook Group.

Please note, I am not affiliated with this quilt along in any manner, I happened to stumble across it while scrolling Instagram on a sick weekend. The various blocks are designed by designers from Andover Fabrics.
