Quilting Goals for 2026

If you read my 2025 Quilting Goal Failure yesterday, you can probably see why I am hesitant to make quilting goals for 2026!

But I’m going to do it anyway.

I’m having a very “burn the ships” end of 2025, and I’m focused on moving forward with this little quilting business of mine.

That’s going to require some goals for the new year.

Ready or not, here we go!

Goal 1 Write for the Finished Quilts

I’ve got a couple of quilts finished, or close to finished.  I need to sit down, FOCUS, and get some writing and/or photo editing done in order to be able to publish them.

I WILL write patterns or tutorials for all finished projects.

Goal 2 Finish the Unfinished

I’ve got some projects in various stages of completion.  It’s time to finish them.  Then, it will be time to add them to Goal One.

Goal 3 Do the Math

I’ve got two (or more!) quilt patterns in mind.  I’m struggling to get them from mind to fabric and from mind to pattern.  There’s some math involved.  I can do math.  I will do math!

Goal 4 Find the Rhythm

There’s got to be a better work flow for me.

Quilting will happen when I’m inspired and have time.  I’m not too worried about that.  But photo taking.

Photo editing.

Writing.

Publishing.

There’s got to be a rhythm that is less nothing for months followed by last minute productivity as time winds down.

(Don’t ask me what time on New Years Eve I wrote this post!)  I’m sure there is a rhythm to keeping organized and have time flowing well, I just need to find it.  Or make it.  Or something.

I’m confident you will get to your goals this year. I think if you complete one you will be encouraged to carry on to the next. The rhythm will come. Good luck and may the force be with you. Lol.
